As the end of the school year approaches, teachers can assess their progress with their current goals, mark complete the goals that have been achieved, reflect on those completed goals, and set new goals for the coming year.
- In Appraise, select the goal to review in the My Goals list.
- Review the Evidence tab to determine if the goal is complete. If so,
- Click on Complete Goal on top menu bar.
When the goal is marked as complete, the Reflection questions appear at the bottom of the goal screen for the teacher to complete.
Appraisers can review these completed goals in the EOY conference. If the appraiser agrees that the goal has indeed been completed, he/she can archive the goal. If the appraiser feels more work is needed on the goal, the teacher can edit the goal, change the completion target to a date agreed upon with the appraiser, and resubmit that goal for continued work.
Creating New Goals:
Last year, teachers may have used the T-TESS Self-Assessment and Goal Setting document templates to set goals and complete the initial goal setting process. This year, they will use the New Goal button to create goals that will carry over into Strive.
Using this goal feature rather than the old documents will allow you to capture the history of all changes that are made over the course of the year. In addition, this feature gives you an evidence tab with a space to upload/attach/link to evidence of how that goal is being accomplished by the teachers.
Teachers will need to access the New Goal button to create new goals.
After selecting the New Goal button, teachers will follow the wizard to enter a Title, Goal, Action Steps, Evidence Attainment, Target Completion Date, and Dimensions, and then click Submit to Approver.
Click here for more details about using the Goals Feature.
When the new school year begins, teachers will be able to add specific target completion dates for each action step as a new feature in the Strive interface.
Once the goal is created, submitted, and approved by the appraiser, the teacher can begin working on that goal and collecting evidence. Any messages between teacher and appraiser will be saved on the messages tab, and any evidence collected will be saved on the evidence tab. All of this information will carry over into the new Strive interface for teachers to continue to work on their goals.
