Student Growth Goals allow teachers to create and track performance goals, tag learning standards, and upload evidence to help measure student success. Similar to Professional Goals, this new feature includes Learning Standards for any district that has standards loaded in Forethought to be tied to these goals. A district without Forethought should not see the connection to learning standards.

Add Student Growth Goals
If the district has setup the goal in the Evaluation Process, teachers can add a goal in the Evaluations tab by clicking the (+) button in the SLO step.
On the Goals tab, teachers can add a Student Growth Goal in Strive by clicking the Add a Student Growth Goal button.
The Student Growth Goal window operates similarly to the enhanced smart goal for teacher goal-setting. Enter the goal statement, success criteria, actions and date of completion. The Standards & Tags allow the teacher to drill down to the curriculum standards (TEKS) for a particular subject to attach to the student growth goal. Click on the school level to open the containers to view courses. Select the course to open the standards.
Click the checkboxes next to each standard to select them as the focus for the specific Student Growth Goal. Multiple standards can be selected for each goal.
NOTE: If your district has manually entered student learning standards into Forethought, those standards will not appear in Strive for Student Growth Goal setting. An educator who teaches locally created standards can skip the Standards & Tags section of the Student Growth Goal template. Instead, the teacher may choose to type the student learning standard into the General Information section of the template.
If your district does not use Forethought or track learning standards, you may not have the option below for Standards & Tags but you can add a goal without them.
Click the Save button after entering all required elements. You can view and make changes to the Student Growth Goal before clicking Submit for Approval.
Just like with the Professional Goal, teachers can add evidence indicating how they are working on achieving the specific Student Growth Goal.
To add more student growth goals, click the (+) button on the Student Growth Goal timeline in the Goals tab or the (+) button in the Evaluations tab for the evaluation process step.
