We understand the TEA has released updates to the preliminary Technology Enhanced Items roadmap on January 27, 2022; we will continue to use this space to share updates about development.
Timeline for Interactive Item Types (Updated August 2022):
In the table above, a checkmark indicates that Eduphoria has successfully imported an item type into our system. An X indicates that the Mastery Bank item type is not recognized in Aware.
Note: Eduphoria updates the table on a case-by-case basis as our partners provide us with new item type information.
Items from item banks vary in availability based on content, grade level, and subject. For more information, reference the available item bank lists.
In addition to the item information listed above, we have partnered with Desmos to integrate their graphing calculator into our online testing platform. Users can choose from among four different calculators for online assessments.
New Item Types Announced for STAAR:
Interactive Item Types in Aware
Eduphoria’s Product Team is excited to share our strategy to support online testing with Interactive Item Types. As many of you know, the TEA has published information about the future of state testing with plans to include Interactive Item Type questions as 25% or more of STAAR-tested items across subjects and grade levels starting in the 2022-2023 school year.
Our engineers are hard at work building support for the creation of, editing, and importing from item banks new item interaction options throughout most of 2021 and 2022 (see table at the top of this article). Our plan is to make all of these new item interactions available for online testing as soon as possible with basic scoring and data analysis. Then we will turn our attention to advanced scoring options and data analysis. Teachers and education leaders will continue to be able to use each new item interaction as it becomes available.
This effort, while connected with the future of state testing in Texas, is part of a larger focus by Eduphoria to support varied assessment practices. In November of 2020, we released rubric assessments, including options for lead4ward Student Performance Rubrics.
