Axiom users with the Analyze Accountability Data Right or Principal Role are able to filter data to identify students that belong in specific groups. This article will detail how to use the filters and what type of information may be sorted within each data column. Once a group of students has been identified, the list can be exported to Excel or an Aware Monitor Group can be created.
Accessing Data Tables
To access your data tables and begin using filters, select Student Achievement. From the Domain 1: Student Achievement page, scroll to the STAAR Score section and select a numeric field from the table. To view all student assessments, begin with the number which represents the Number of Assessments row and Totals column. The title on the corresponding page will reflect the initial data selection.
Available Filters
Fields with available filters will be indicated with arrows and a drop-down list.
Note: Fields with a gray background may only include one option, while fields with a white background may contain multiple selections.
Using Filters
In the following example, a campus principal would like to measure the impact of the instructional setting on students with identified Special Education needs. This principal will use filters to identify two groups of students. One group will include Special Education (Current) and the other group Special Education (Former). Each group will identify students which achieved Approaches Grade Level with Limited Progress for Math and Reading/ELA STAAR.
Notice that the title will update to include information related to the selected Subject(s) and a subheading will be updated to include each selected filter option.
Now that a group of students has been identified, the corresponding list may be printed, exported to Excel, or used to create a Monitor Group.
As an additional example, a user could filter by Subject and Approaches NO (Did Not Pass) to make an HB 4545 list to use for Accelerated Instruction (AI) and Accelerated Instruction Committees (AIC).
