Teachers and other staff members create Monitor Lists when they need to see students who are not on their current roster. For example, a teacher tutors students after school from another campus or another class and needs to be able to access their profiles. By creating a monitor list that a principal approves, the teacher can view all information on the student profiles.
Creating a Monitor List
Step1: Select Manage My Monitor Lists within the Students tab in Aware Classic.
Step 2: Select Create a Monitor List.
Step 3: Follow the creation wizard to create a monitor list.
Step 4: Enter a name for the monitor list and click Next.
Step 5: Search for a student by typing in the student’s last name, first name, or Student ID number.
Step 6: Press Enter or select Search.
Step 7: Select the student from the list and click Add. The student’s name will appear in the box on the right.
Step 8: Repeat the process until all students are added and click Next, then Finish.
Note: The monitor list will be pending approval until an administrator approves it.
Uploading a Student List File
Instead of manually adding students, users can upload a student list from a CSV file.
Step 1: Under the Add students and classes wizard, scroll down to Upload file of Students.
Step 2: Select Choose File to locate your CSV file. Ensure you have formatted your file into comma-separated columns to include the student’s Last Name, First Name, and an optional Student Local ID in that order.
If you know the Student Local ID, you can have that sole information on the line. If you don’t know the Student Local ID, only Last Name and First Name are required to find results.
Step 3: Once you have chosen your file, select Upload File. The system will add matches to the monitor list. If there are duplicate matches, they will be shown on the left-hand list but won’t be automatically added.
Step 4: Click Next, then Finish once you are done creating your monitor list.
Managing Monitor Lists
Monitor Lists can be created, edited, and deleted on the Students tab.
Step 1: From the Students tab, select Manage My Monitor Lists.
Step 2: Select the lists and either edit or delete the list by using the buttons on the toolbar.
Viewing a List or Group
Once a Monitor List is approved, the teacher can search for the student from the Students tab or view the student’s profiles from the Analyze tab.
Step 1: From the Analyze tab, select Monitor Lists. Then, select My Student Groups to view a monitor group or list.
Step 2: Select the student to see the student’s profile.
