When I change my schedule, why don't my lesson plans automatically change?
When you create a schedule and then click on a day, that schedule is "stamped" onto that day. All of your bold days then have that schedule stamped. When you change your schedule, Forethought does not want to automatically replace your plans with your new schedule. You have to remove the "old" schedule and replace it with the new schedule. You can "Delete Today's Plans," which will remove all plans for that day. Be careful, don't actually delete a day that you have already typed in. The new schedule will be "stamped" into the day.
What do I do if I have a semester long course and need to track standard usage for each semester separately?
The best solution is to edit your schedule at semester. You can add your course (yes, the same one) and remove your old. Don't worry, your plans from last semester will still be there. Now, the standards can once again be tracked.
Can I use standards from one course in another one of my courses (i.e. integrate my curriculum)?
Yes, use the drop down option at the top of the curriculum pane to open up your other courses. Choose the course to to then open its curriculum. You can add standards to your entry the same as for the standard course.
Should I copy all of my plans from last year to this year?
We strongly recommend that you do NOT copy the entire year. There is no undo option! It is best to copy a couple weeks at a time by limiting the copy down to 10 to 15 instructional days. Yes, it sounds like a cool idea. However, this means that EVERY day this year is exactly like last year. Your school calendar differs, your students change, and you typically don't do exactly the same thing from year to year.
Can I copy from my planner to my team planner?
The only way to copy from your individual planner to your team planner is to manually select the text, click copy, and then paste it directly to the team planner. This will not copy learning standards or attachments, only lesson text. You will have to manually enter those also. Remember though, you can easily copy from the team planner to your individual planner in just a few clicks!
