Search by School
Depending on your role in Aware, you can search for courses and teachers on a specific campus by clicking on a campus name, locating the teacher's name and clicking the Search button.
A list of students will appear based on your search criteria. The total number of students will appear at the bottom left. One hundred students appear per page. If you need to view the next page of student names, click the arrow forward button. To view the previous page, click the arrow back button. To start a new search, click the Clear Search button.

Search by Form
Depending on your role in Aware, you can click on a specific form or sub-form and click the Search button to find a student who has been assigned that form.
A list of students will appear based on your search criteria. The total number of students will appear at the bottom left. One hundred students appear per page. If you need to view the next page of student names, click the arrow forward button. To view the previous page, click the arrow back button. To start a new search, click the Clear Search button.

Search by Monitor List
If you have any students who are a part of a monitor list, you can click on a specific monitor list name and then the Search button to locate a student in that list.
A list of students will appear based on your search criteria. The total number of students will appear at the bottom left. One hundred students appear per page. If you need to view the next page of student names, click the arrow forward button. To view the previous page, click the arrow back button. To start a new search, click the Clear Search button.

Searching for all students you teach
To search for a list of all students you teach, type All in the Search field and click the Search button.
A list of students will appear based on your search criteria. The total number of students will appear at the bottom left. One hundred students appear per page. If you need to view the next page of student names, click the arrow forward button. To view the previous page, click the arrow back button. To start a new search, click the Clear Search button.

Searching for a student by first or last name
Follow the steps below to search for a student by first or last name:
- Type the student's first or last name in the Search field.
- Add a space after the name. (This step may not be necessary.)
- Click Enter on your keyboard.
Note: While teachers and schools may contain the same names as students, clicking Enter instead of selecting the teacher or school will return student results.

Students with the last name White vs. students whose ethnicity is white
To search for a student with the last name White, type "White" in the Search field and click Enter on your keyboard.
Notes: If you forget to add the quotation marks, your search results will yield all students whose ethnicity is white. Using quotation marks will yield search results by name or ID.

Searching for all students in a specific grade level
To search for a student by grade level, type the Arabic numeral or the word representing the grade level in the Search field, make your selection and click Enter on your keyboard. The total number of students in the grade level appears in the bottom left corner. One hundred students appear per page.

Combining student search fields to narrow results
To search for students in a certain grade level at a particular school representing a specific ethnicity, type the following criteria in the Search field and click Enter on your keyboard after each entry to narrow down the results:
- Grade level <Enter>
- School name or school type <Enter>
- Specific ethnicity <Enter>
See the following screenshots for a specific example. Each time a new key word is added to the Search field, the total search results decrease in the lower left corner (from 5339 students to 287 students to 24 students).

Searching for an unenrolled student
To search for an unenrolled student, type include unenrolled in the Search field and click Enter on your keyboard. Students appearing in color are enrolled, and students appearing in gray are unenrolled. The total number of all students, enrolled and unenrolled, appears in the bottom left corner. One hundred students appear per page.
To narrow down the list to a specific student, type the student ID and then click Enter on your keyboard. To start a new search, click the Clear Search button.

Searching for a teacher
There are two ways to search for a teacher.
- Type the teacher's first or last name in the Search field and click on the teacher's name to make your selection.
- Select the School where the teacher works, click on Teachers, make your selection from the list of teachers, and click the Search button.

Using or, not and ( ) when searching for students
To generate a list of all students at two schools, type the following into the Search field:
- School #1 <Enter>
- Or <Enter>
- School #2 <Enter>
The list will include students at school #1 or school #2.
Note: If you have a school in your district that begins with Or, press the space bar after the r and then click Enter on your keyboard to generate the Or.
You can combine or, not and ( ) when searching for specific students.
For instance, if you wanted to locate 9th and 10th-grade students at Alexander High School who are not assigned a 504 modifications form, you would type the following keywords into the Search field:
- Alexander High School <Enter>
- ( <Enter>
- Grade 9 or Ninth <Enter>
- Or <Enter>
- Grade 10 <Enter>
- ) <Enter>
- Not <Enter>
- 504 accommodations form <Enter>
