The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has created a new teacher evaluation system (T-TESS) and principal evaluation system (T-PESS) to replace PDAS for the 2016-17 school year and beyond. Eduphoria has built support for T-TESS and T-PESS in a new application for Texas Districts. Appraise will replace PDAS for all Texas customers.
We also want to remove some of the workload from system administrators. By disabling the PDAS licenses, there is no need to remove PDAS roles and rights nor to have principals un-select users to be appraised. This should help districts, principals and teachers to make a smoother transition.
On August 9, 2016, PDAS will be disabled for all customers.
How does our district get Appraise?
Any customer licensed for PDAS already has a license for Appraise. Roles and rights will need to be configured for Appraise to grant administrators access.
How will we access PDAS data moving forward?
All archived appraisals (PDAS, Walkthroughs, custom evals) are already available in Appraise. There is no need to continue accessing PDAS for old appraisal data.
What if our district has elected to continue using PDAS?
Fear not! We can turn them back on and you will not lose any data!!!
Any district that has elected to continue using PDAS can contact Eduphoria Support at firstname.lastname@example.org. Anyone who contacts us before August 9 will not lose access to PDAS. Anyone who contacts us after that date can have PDAS enabled again in less than 24 hours.
How do we get more training or help with Appraise?
Appraise is an Eduphoria Suite application. That means it already has the look and feel of our other apps. Appraise works very similarly to PDAS, and most users are able to make the transition with little or no training.
Transition documentation is available through the Eduphoria online help. If you have additional questions, contact email@example.com. If you would like to schedule time with an Eduphoria trainer, contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
