Accessing the Enter Answers View
To score student responses, teachers should click on 'Test Available' on the Analyze tab.
Next, find the assessment by either searching, scrolling, or using the filters on the right side of the screen. Once you find your assessment then click on the 'Enter Answers' button to the right.
Clicking the 'Enter Answers' button will open a window where you may select the desired class(es). Click the 'Load Students' button to see the Enter Answers view.
Enter Answers Landing Page
After clicking 'Load Students', you will be directed to a new landing page in the Enter Answers view. This page will give you options to go directly to students with unscored responses, questions missing responses, grading only constructed response questions, or to this help article.
Response Views
View by Students
The 'Students View' button allows you to view and enter answers for all the responses of one student at a time.
In View by Students, select the name of a student from the left sidebar to enter answers for that student. Search by student name to find a specific student. As you enter answers, all changes are saved automatically. However, this button does not score the student until you select Score Student.
To score a student individually, you can click the 'Score Student' button on the bottom of the screen.
View by Questions
The 'View by Questions' button allows you to view and enter answers for one question number at a time, for a single student or for all students.
In View by Questions, select 'All Students' for the associated section, or click a student's name to enter answers for one specific question.
Select the question number in the pagination area to score only that question.
To see a summary of all the question numbers, click the "More" on the far right of the pagination area.
To navigate to another question, click a question number in the question summary guide.
Adding and Clearing Filters
In 'View by Students' and 'View by Questions,' you may add a filter to view only constructed responses or unanswered responses.
In 'View by Questions', you can select 'constructed' in the response type drop down menu. This view will allow you to easily tab through each student response as you enter their scores.
In the student sidebar on the left, you can sort students by first or last name.
You can filter to see only the unscored students.
Students who are unscored have a bell indicator to the right of their name.
To clear all filters, including the filters in the students sidebar, click the 'Clear Filter' button in the top right corner. This button will take you back to the landing page of the Enter Answers view.
To return to the Tests Available page, click the back arrow in the top left corner of the screen.
Review and Score
After you are ready to submit students scores (meaning the test will be graded and show up under Analyze), you can click the 'Review and Score' button in the top right.
This button will open a window that shows a list of unscored students, with the number of unanswered responses they have.
If you want to go back to a specific student's answers, you can click on the student's name to return to View by Students and review the unanswered questions.
To score students, select the check box next to the student name(s), then click the 'Score Selected Students' button in the bottom right corner. After a student is scored, the student will have a score under the Analyze tab. If the student had unanswered questions this option will score these as incorrect.
Note: After selecting review & score, refresh your browser window before navigating to the analyze screen to update the data.
Previews in Enter Answers
To assist you while entering answers, three preview options are available in View by Students and View by Questions. These previews are for the question, scoring guide (if you entered this information in the assessment), and student notes (if the student has entered notes for the question).
In View by Students, the preview buttons are located in the top right corner of each response.
The 'Question Preview' button is on the left.
The 'Scoring Guide' (for constructed responses) button is in the center.
The 'Student Notes' button is on the right.
In View by Questions, if the 'All Students' filter is selected, only the question preview and scoring guide buttons are located in the top right corner of the list of questions.
If a student has written a note, the notes icon will be near the student's name.
